Ocean in a Cup

This was an assignment for my Catalyst Graphic Design course teaching us basic photoshop, in which we edited a wave into a photo of a coffee cup.

I first cut out the wave in photoshop. Then I created a layer above the cup using the paintbrush, coloring just inside the cup. I clipped the wave to the layer and that was it. As a final touch, I added some shading to the inside of the cup to make it look more realistic.
