Catalyst Cafe Menu

Me and my friend Krow worked in collaboration to create a menu for the Catalyst Cafe. there was a competition across my course to create the menu for the cafe, and this was our entry.

We went for a chalkboard style for the background, but a sleek and smooth design for the menu blocks. We used the center's official color palette with a few original colors to color it all. We laid it out so the biggest meals would come first, and then within that, the pricing would go from lowest to highest. we used ribbons as a motif, using the very first menu as inspiration. we chose a readable, but interesting, font for the title and menu items.

I made the base of the menu, the visual aspects of it all, and Krow worked on the typography. to start, I used copyright free art of food items in a pattern, colored them white, then lowered the opacity and placed them on a dark blue background to mimic a chalkboard.
