Kitchen Diorama

This is a 3D model of a room I created in my 3D graphics class to show my progress from the first room I created.

The very first room I created was also my very first blender project. My teacher, Mr. Phipps, decided that it would be good to show our progress by making our first and last projects the same thing. My first room was a bedroom since that was easy to create. The last one I did was a kitchen because I wanted to try something different, something a little more detailed.

I started out with a blank base, a room shape that my instructor had made for us to work with. Then I added basic shapes, the countertops, window, and cabinets. I modeled the details separately and then merged them together, adding other details where I felt it was fitting. The interior felt a little empty, so I quickly modeled a table and chair to fill the space. Then, I added materials. I created a color palette and used modifiers to create texture. The marble was a distorted wave texture on the metallic setting, and the wood also had a distorted wave texture on the color setting.
